Underwater Expedition 3D Science Game

The inhabitants of the sea are fascinating -- and sometimes unusual -- examples of the concepts and principles highlighted in the Life Sciences. Underwater Expedition is an interactive, 3D program in which kids travel through different marine environments in search of animals they must photograph. Kids control their movement around a dive site and, with the help of hints and a map, must locate the animals.

Each virtual environment is based on a specific marine habitat that includes plants and animals commonly found there. The diversity of life is represented by species of fish, along with marine mammals, reptiles and arthropods. There is currently a coral reef habitat and a deep sea habitat.

Several missions are associated with each dive site. Children may repeat missions as many times as they like. As pictures are collected in the mission archives, children can discover more about each animal by accessing its "stat sheet."  Here, they'll find information about an animal's physical features, behaviors, diet, habitat and distribution.

With the Underwater Expedition game at iKnowthat, children can probe the world beneath the ocean's surface and learn about some of the remarkable animals that inhabit the waters of our planet. Children in 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade will enjoy this interactive science game.
